According to Alexa, Facebook is the second most popular website next to Google. I researched more and found that around 30% of the global internet subscribers visit Facebook every day. Facebook currently has 300 million subscribers and is growing rapidly. 45 Million updates are made on Facebook every day and world wide users spend around 8 billion minutes per day.

What does it represent to you as an internet marketer? It is a huge gold mine. Isn’t it? But, how are you going to pose yourself exceptionally and endorse your business on Facebook taking into account the huge volume of updates being posted on Facebook every day? How do you seize the mind of the Facebook users? The idea of this post is to make you conscious of the essential Facebook marketing strategies and tools that you need to effectively produce leads and control.

Always remember Facebook is a social network and must not be used to launch your business. Affluence in your Facebook marketing is directly proportial to the number of solid interaction developed with fellow users.

Facebook Profile

– Adding in a picture in your profile will validate that you are a real person and not a robot. Make your profile picture stand out so that people would love viewing you.
– Do not for get to fill in important information such as schools you attended and make it public so that people can easily connect to you through search.
– Type in your interest and make it public so that other facebook users will be able to relate to you.
– Put all your websites such as a blog, Twitter, Multiply, WordPress, etc. By default, only your main website is shown. I suggest users in displaying all your websites in your profile. Anyone looking at your profile page could click on your URLS and find out more about you.

Add Friends

Next thing to do is to add friends, you need as many friends as possible to be able and then interact with them. You can add up to 25-30 friends per day. If facebook admin finds out that your adding friend excessively they might terminate your account so be careful about this.

Interact with friends through like and comment

Once you have added a few friends and are able to view their content on your home page, start communicating with them by liking and commenting on their updates. Be lenient on your comment as this will show up on the updater’s wall and is visible to all his friends. So, it pays to make bright comments to get traffic back to your page. Also, feel free to share quotes, posts, and videos that had an optimistic outcome on you. Bottom line is to interact with your facebook contacts as much as possible.

Facebook Photo Albums

Facebook friends just love commenting on photos, so if you post pictures, post something that is worth a look. Do not over post pictures because viewers will find it boring. Your friends and other people just love looking on pictures especially if it is captured in a beautiful place or with a celebrity or something that is eye-catching. Make sure to write something about the pictures, explain where it was taken and what activities have you done.

Facebook Videos

If a picture is worth thousand words, how much is a video worth? In 2009, video marketing has been on the rise and is believed to stay for long. Facebook allows you whichever to upload videos or shoot a video straight away. The more you post a video, the better chances of having your page viewed. Do share your videos regarding networking events, funny incidents, success and any other video that could have a helpful consequence on others. I use the video feature of Facebook in different ways and am seeing extraordinary results:

1. First, I introduce myself to recently added friends and this is done by a short video describing who I am and letting them know that I appreciate their friendship.
2. I use instant Facebook video recording option to wish birthdays to friends.

Facebook Groups

Group positions you as a leader and displays the value you can provide to fellow networkers. Facebook users who join your group can be converted to prospects for your biz by using effective attraction marketing strategies. It pays to establish a group and providing value to the members of the group through emails, invitations to an event etc. I also use groups in Facebook to identify like minded people and to promote my posts.

Facebook Events

Facebook allows you to create a public event (viewable to all members of Facebook) and provides you URL that can be used to correspond on other social networks like Twitter, MySpace etc. By sending an event invitation via email to all my group members, the event feature will the keep track of the user’s status whether they are attending, not attending may be on the event. I see a boost in numbers for the event when I send a prompt email to people who were not sure or were planning to attend.

Facebook Wall posts

Evey user in Facebook has a wall where he posts messages and moderates the comments made. If you are a core Facebook user, I am sure that you must be posting and promoting your content on your wall. However, It is worth much more to learn how to post your content effectively on walls of the members having a huge number of friends. It can be done by giving a lot of value that could be beneficial to the users visiting the page. Facebook will disable your account if they see you spamming. So, be cautious while using this approach.

Facebook Notes

Having a Word Press blog is highly recommended, but make sure that your content is valuable. Facebook notes is a remarkable feature which you can use to make your blog content visible publicly to all members of Facebook. Also, there are applications that import your blog content into the notes in an automated way. Isn’t that exciting?

This feature would increase your blog traffic tremendously and ultimately your sales if you are using the blog as central hub/nerve center as I mentioned in my Attraction Marketing Blueprint post.

Facebook Applications
