Everton will look to South America for future transfers

Everton want to expand their scouting network in South America.

Director of football Steve Walsh believes the Blues have Europe’s “major leagues” covered but is determined to scour markets further overseas.

But the ECHO understands that Everton have no plans to replace their long-serving Scandinavian scout Bryan King who left for Aston Villa in January.

Instead the Blues will rely on their already existing contacts and relationships with agents in that part of the world to keep them up-to-date.

South America, however, is an area Everton want to explore further and Walsh says it’s on his agenda for the club to have a greater presence in Brazil, Argentina and other countries on the continent.
