Family activities include physics, hockey and ‘Alice’ | Get Out

Carthage College’s Society of Physics Students is hosting a “Blast off!” event for Family Fun Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday (Feb. 24) in Carthage’s Hedberg Library.

Family Fun Night is free and open to the public. Themed activities take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Families can also use the library’s computers and browse the Center for Children’s Literature.

The Tarble Athletic and Recreational Center is open from 6 to 9 p.m., with swimming from 7 to 9 p.m. A $1 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is required to use the athletic facilities.

Free Hockey Week clinics

The LakeView Recplex, 9900 Terwall Terrace in Pleasant Prairie, and the Kenosha Ice Arena, 7727 60th Ave., are holding free girls hockey clinics on Saturday (Feb. 25).

The Vipers Girls Hockey Club is hosting the clinic for ages 4 to 14 at the RecPlex Ice Arena from 11:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. The Kenosha Ice Arena is hosting the clinic for ages 3 to 9 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

No experience in skating or hockey is required. Participants must have their own skates, helmet and gloves.

The clinics are part of USA Hockey’s Hockey Week Across America.

Open shooting slated at Bowmen

Kenosha Bowmen, 15211 75th St. in Bristol, is offering indoor open shooting 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 24).

The event is open to all ages. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for ages 12 and under. A limited number of compound bows are available for use.
