Innokin iTaste MVP: Durable, Functional & Capable

The Innokin iTaste MVP may at first offset those with a natural aversion to blocky objects, but once you understand the reason behind the bulky design, you may come around to like it. Firstly, the MVP is slightly ungainly; no one will deny that. However, its value comes not from being the sleekest device on the market, but rather because it is one of the more pragmatic ones.

Its premier quality is that it can hold a full 2600 milli amp hours in charge. This large capacity is in itself useful as it allows for a splendid amount of vape time, often more than a couple days between charges.  However, there is more. Located on the base of the unit is a USB output slot. Plug any of your electronic devices that can be charges via USB and watch as the MVP altruistically donates some of its own juice to your phone, iPod, or whatever. Admittedly, you will not be getting a fully charged phone out of this process, but you can at least postpone the demise of your electronics so you can make that all important call that might change your life.

This little quick is fun and all, but now we need to take a look at the practical usage of the device. As a variable voltage device it is not winning any prizes, but is still a valid competitor. The range of the voltage available is limited to only 3.3-5.0V, barely a wider range than even the basic eGo-C Twist. However, this is still a pragmatic range for most vapers and will suit their needs fine. But, the real limits come from what the display screen can (or rather, cannot) display.

The only info you will be getting out of the display is a puff counter and the current voltage level that you have set the device to. There are no battery readings, no power mode, and no way to detect the resistance in whatever atomizer you have elected to use. Fortunately, these shortcomings are dealt with in the upcoming MVP 2.0, which I believe can perform all of these features.

Lastly, the device does have a partial pass-through feature allowing you…
